I love writing this blog. It’s been a busy past few weeks in stand-up comedy for me, but the one thing I want to talk about most is my recent experience at this year’s Funny Fest Comedy Competition in Calgary.
I placed third, which was pretty incredible if you ask me. My goal is to win this competition one day. Over the past three years, I’ve come very close, and this year was the closest yet, finishing in third place.
I had a great time performing stand-up on stage in Calgary. The Calgary audience enjoys my blind humour just as much as I enjoy telling it… Which is a lot. I had hopes of winning the 26th annual Funny Fest competition, and while coming in third was still gratifying, of course winning would have been better. But it wasn’t my year, and honestly, I’m okay with that.
I love performing comedy because it brings me so much joy. It’s when I’m at my happiest right there on stage.
I’m also focusing more on my new T-shirt clothing line, creating motivational designs alongside some of my comedy jokes. At this time, I’m not sure if I’ll launch a full-scale online store. Instead, I’ll be releasing simple purchase links available through my Linktree and my official website, which is where you’re reading this blog.

This Blog Update brought to you by the all new Blind Guy Comedy Positive T-shirt. The world is better with laughter. Purchase yours today. Each order is only $7.00 Canadian shipping and $12 shipping to America.
I’m happy to announce that in April, a local Red Deer drugstore has agreed to carry some of my motivational T-shirts. I’ll be sharing more details about that soon.
I’m also taking things a bit slower with comedy and trying not to overwork myself. Bringing my kids with me to this year’s Funny Fest showed me that my six-year-old and five-year-old still have some growing to do. Entertaining little ones while performing comedy is quite the multitasking challenge. That said, I’m incredibly grateful my family was able to join me at the competition.
I love showing my kids that the world actually finds their dad funny. Most of the material at the competition was 18+, but honestly, my kids weren’t offended at all. What surprised me the most was… they had no questions afterward. Probably because they were busy colouring most of the time while the comedians were on stage.
Just wanted to share a few updates with you.
If you ever see Blind Guy Comedy merchandise anywhere other than blindguycomedy.com or my official Linktree, it’s probably not mine. Stick to this blog or my official link tree for authentic merch. I’ll continue to share T-shirt images and purchase links here, as well as through my official Blind Guy Comedy Facebook page and TikTok account.
Thank you for reading my latest update. I’m always excited to share my comedy journey with you here on blindguycomedy.com.
